Caving

Today we went to Venedo Caverns today with Ecoterra https://ecoterracostarica.com/ this cave tour is neat but I will say that this is harder than the caves Emily and I went to in Belize last year. The caves here are not very cool temperature wise and was more strenuous to go though. For my size I had to do a lot of crawling on my hands and knees and try and squish myself up in ways that my flexibility would allow but my size made if difficult. There were some pretty tight spaces to go through. Some had water flowing and it was much easier for me to army crawl half swim though than to crawl as my back would hit the top. The water wasn’t deep enough to actually swim in. I have put on some extra pounds recently with my job change, I wasn’t getting all my workouts in. I just recently slowed down on picking up extra shifts so it should help having more free days to workout and with summer coming up quickly I have more time for riding my bicycle so that should help.

All the rafting and cave pictures are still shots from the GoPro knockoff. I watch the video then grab screenshots.

We had to move over on the way to the cave in an area where the surface randomly went to gravel from blacktop, the driver got a little far to the right and was spinning in the larger drainage rock and had to go back down hill a little to get back to the middle.

On our way back from dinner tonight someone in the main pool / jacuzzi area was burning some marijuana. We were later than normal and we got to see some of our entry area geckos. The sun comes up little before 6 and down just after 6.

A little bit about how we travel and what items we take with us for our excursions. sometimes we take it all. The LocTote bag is light and it is very handy. Emily carries it on her back and it fits her nicely, me not so much, I just carry it in my hand if I’m using it.

In the morning we are leaving this location and headed for the coast. This is a nice resort. It wasn’t super commercial, it is a locally owned resort. I don’t know if it’s because of keeping busy or if it’s just the resort itself but it never felt like the resort in Jamaica, which is good. This would be a good place to come to if you want some good scenery and a place to relax. There are excursions if that’s something you want to do. It’s not really in walking distance of town so for us that was the only downside. We do prefer apartments over hotel/ resorts so we can cook but for a few days a local place is a good option. Food is more expensive and you may have crowds, but it’s easy.

So some pictures from rafting!
